This course has traditionally led to the SPS Diploma in Sports Massage. The one 60 credit module has now been replaced by a more integrated Massage & Movement Programme of Units and modules. The New Generation Education Packages offers those studying Physiotherapy the opportunity to learn the skills for application in a variety of Sport, Clinical & Therapeutic situations and environments. Anyone wishing to receive a qualification in stand alone Sports Massage will have an opportunity at a later date to complete appropriate evidences and examinations. Details will be available in early 2023.
The New course programme Module 1 will provide skills and application across a wide range of presentations and scenarios. The underpinning theory, practice based evidence & evidence based practice will also be presented. This module will cover fundamental methods: Effleurage, Perissage, Dermal Lifting, Vibrations, Tapotement, Passive Stretching. A minimum of 32 hand-skills will be taught.
The level of education is 4/5 and this module may be used in combination with other SPS modules to receive awards and qualifications when available. For more information contact Viv Lancey admin@spslearn.co.uk

The mode of delivery is 12 evenings (Tuesday or Thursday) face to face over approximately 3 months. Successful completion of this module results in an SPS Certificate of Attendance. An opportunity to have the skills assessed for competence will be available.
This mode of delivery may especially suit physiotherapy and undergraduate regulated professionals. However in a small group situation no previous experience is required. For further information contact SPS on 0292048999.
The programme includes all the core elements required by the Professional Bodies -see prospectus -and gives all course participants access to help & support in setting up their own practices. Support to students is easily accessible throughout the period of study and after as an essential part of continued professional development (CPD).
Successful completion of this module allows autonomous practice (with appropriate insurance) and access to a variety of other CPD courses. See here for Module 2
